In Russia in 1983 during the Cold War, there's an incident in space. One crew member, Konstantin Sergeyevich (Pyotr Fyodorov), has survived, but he's lost his memory. When psychologist Tatiana Klimova (Oksana Akinshina) is brought in to help cure Sergeyevich's amnesia, she learns he's brought back an alien parasite that lives inside him.
