We enjoyed the movie very much. Disney did a great job

User review rating: 5 January 22, 2016

I found the movie amazing. Through many of the storm scenes I was on the edge of my seat. The fact that this is based on a true story makes it even more of an adventure. The movie was so realistic in 3D, I'm surprised I didn't get seasick

This was the perfect movie for a night out. It was exciting, heart-warming and the action just leaps off the screen in the storm scenes. Incredible storm effects! Great job by Chris Pine. Loved it!

I loved it. When I saw the preview on t.v. I honestly didn't think much of it but after seeing it...well the preview just doesn't do the movie justice. The 3D effects were absolutely amazing! It kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I give it two thumbs up and will be recommending it people I know. It was great!

Based on a true story. Truly brave people and amazing story!

User review rating: 4 January 22, 2016

Truly heroic. It's amazing that anyone survived this ordeal. The film was well done, and the action and suspense kept on coming. Experiencing it in 3D made it that much more enjoyable.

User review rating: 2 January 22, 2016

The movie felt a bit long. The Longest Hours. The love story could be skipped. The 3D wasn't great.

User review rating: 4 January 22, 2016

The movie was action packed, it combined a love story with tense nail biting scenes! I was on the edge of my seat most of the movie. My only complaint would be how slow Chris Pine (Bernie Webber) reacted and spoke- long drawn out actions in contrast to the action on the sea. All in all I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it.

A pinch of romance and a dash of danger and you have a wonderful tale of courage. Well acted and refreshing story telling from Disney.

It was my first 3D movie I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this movie to my family and friends. I was always on the edge of my seat non-stop action

Totally immersed during the movie. I knew the story going in, but was still rooting for Bernie and his mates and Seifert. Enjoyable

I really enjoyed The Finest Hours. Watching it in 3D, I found the special effects were very realistic and I could imagine how those men would have felt being on the water in such a storm. I didn't know this was based on a true story, so it was really neat to see the photos and news clippings at the end of the film.

I enjoyed the movie as I had never heard about tragedy. The movie was fast paced and was nor boring and did not drag. The only thing that I was not thrilled about was when they loaded with the survisors, they seemed to have dry clothes on, which was unexpected since they had been in the storm and in the water

I really enjoyed this movie, it was great to see a movie whose storyline was based on a true event that didn't require any spectacular explosions or mindless violence to grab your attention. The violence of the storm and ocean kept us all glued to the screen and wondering who would make it back alive. Chris Pine and Casey Affleck were both excellent in this movie and I have already recommended it to friends.

I went into this movie with no expectations, but knowing if it was a Disney film that it had to be good. The special effects were amazing and seeing them in 3D made the experience even better. I personally found the characters a little dull, but the actors portraying them were fantastic. Such a great story of courage and I was overall pleased with this movie.

User review rating: 4 January 22, 2016

The movie is a bit slow at the start, then once it gets going to are glued to the screen. Chris Pine plays a different sort of hero for him. Casey Afleck was amazing in his role. Both show the service required of men and women in there fields.

Gr8 movie, especially in 3D for this type of moviie... Made it very intense & realistic as if I was on the oil tanker out in a storm on the perilous seas! Also gr8 acting, & loved that storyline based on true event & real photos & newsclippings shown at end of movie.

the setting for the movie was presented very well, it was intense, quite thrilling and nail biting at times.

Titanic meets Perfect Storm. Good action movie, but seemed a bit familiar in some ways. Some parts did drag, but over all enjoyable.

User review rating: 5 January 22, 2016

I loved it, it was captivating. I was fearful for the whole team. God was watching out for them. Story well written. I also liked the ending when they showed the pictures of the real person, the actors likeness was so close. Thank you for the opportunity to watch the film!

User review rating: 4 January 22, 2016

The Finest Hours was tense, thrilling, and at its core, hopeful and inspiring. It's amazing that it's a true story, and even more crazy that Bernie Webber was just 23 years old when he made the most daring rescue in Coast Guard history. As expected, there were a few cheesy 'Disney' moments, but that just made the film a little more family friendly. It's worth seeing if you like action adventure with a positive message.

Wonderful story about the bravery our first responders. This movie makes you feel like your part of the team. A real suspenefull feel good film with a great cast . Standout performances by Chris Pine and Casey Afflek!

One of the best movie experiences ever. Brought a true story back to life. Amazing movie and actors. Filmed brilliantly!

Saw the advance screening of this last night. it was surprising good, I wasn't sure what I was expecting but it was nice. I would recommend others to see it. only bad thing was that it didn't need to be in 3D. but the acting was good.

A very good movie. Based on a true story , a book written in 2009 by Sherman and Tougias and interviews with surviving members of the incident. From the photographs at the end of the movie, some of the actors look quite a bit like the real people they portray. Acting all-around spotless. Good leads for the two primary roles of the coast guard man in charge (Chris Pine) and the tanker's man in charge (Casey Affleck). A well -filmed historical drama portraying the bravery of the US coast guard in what is arguably one of the most daring rescues ever made.
