Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Diogo Morgado shot to fame at the age of 15, when he landed a starring role on the hit Portuguese television series Terra Mãe (1998). Roles soon followed on the TV series Diário de Maria (1998), A Lenda da Garça (2000) and on the TV mini-series A Febre do Ouro Negro (2000).
